These are photographs of our own demolition work. Each one is explained by what it shows – the technique, the machine, the way the waste is handled – so you can see how a job is actually carried out.
Location and date of each job are not published, out of respect for the owners. The descriptions only cover what can be seen in the photographs.
House demolition
Single-storey brick house: before, during and after
Before: single-storey brick house with tiled roof and porch, green rubble skip on siteDuring: the same house partly demolished, brick and timber sorted into separate pilesAfter: cleared plot cordoned off with barrier tape
This sequence shows a complete house demolition from start to finish. In the first photo the single-storey brick house is still standing, with its tiled roof and porch, and the green skip already on site. In the second the house is partly demolished and the materials are visibly separated – brick in one pile, timber in another – which is what selective demolition looks like on the ground. In the third the plot is cleared and cordoned off with barrier tape, ready to hand over.
Technique
Selective demolition with on-site sorting, followed by clearing of the plot
What the photos show
Before: brick house, tiled roof, porch, skip. During: brick and timber in separate piles. After: cleared plot with barrier tape
Villa demolition
Old villa demolished in a dense urban setting
Aerial view: Liebherr excavator demolishing an old villa in a dense urban setting
The aerial view shows the main difficulty of many coastal villa demolitions: neighbouring buildings close on every side and little room to work. The excavator stands inside the plot and brings the villa down towards itself, keeping debris away from the surrounding properties.
Technique
Mechanical demolition from inside the plot
What the photo shows
Liebherr excavator demolishing an old villa, seen from above, in a densely built area
Building demolition
Multi-storey reinforced concrete building
Hitachi excavator with a demolition crusher bringing down a multi-storey reinforced concrete building, with water spray for dust control
A multi-storey reinforced concrete building is being taken down with a crusher attachment, which breaks the concrete and frees the reinforcement. The water spray at the point of demolition keeps the dust down.
Technique
Mechanical demolition with crusher and dust suppression

Building demolition
Four-storey building taken down top-down
Top-down demolition of a four-storey old industrial building with a long-reach Liebherr excavator and shears
Here the top-down method is clearly visible: a long-reach excavator with shears works on the upper floors first, so that the lower structure keeps carrying what remains above until its turn comes.

What the photo shows
Old four-storey industrial building partly demolished from the top by a long-reach Liebherr
Partial demolition and clearing
Old building with basement walls
CAT excavator on brick rubble next to a partly demolished old building and basement walls
The excavator works from the rubble of the part already demolished, next to the section of the old building that is still standing. The exposed basement walls show the stage where it is decided what is removed and what has to stay to retain the ground.
