In short
Demoliciones Málaga demolishes houses, cortijos and farm buildings in Antequera and the municipalities of its comarca, and removes the rubble sorted by material. Antequera's historic town is a protected Bien de Interés Cultural, so a demolition there needs a licence and, where applicable, heritage authorisation. Outside the protected area, most demolitions go by declaración responsable, which your técnico files.
Our service area in the Antequera comarca
The Antequera comarca is one of the nine comarcas of Málaga province, established by the Andalusian Government in 2003. Its landscape is mostly flat, the so-called Hoya de Antequera, drained by the upper course of the Guadalhorce. Antequera itself lies in the centre of Andalusia, where the Málaga–Córdoba and Granada–Seville routes meet.
We cover the following municipalities of the comarca:
- Antequera, including its historic town and its rural areas
- Alameda, Fuente de Piedra, Humilladero and Mollina, in the farming country to the north
- Casabermeja and Villanueva de la Concepción, towards the hills nearer Málaga
Because the land is open and largely flat, many rural jobs here are straightforward for machinery. The difficulty lies elsewhere: in the historic centre, and in the size of some old agricultural buildings.
Inside the historic centre: licence and heritage first
Antequera's historic town is protected as a Bien de Interés Cultural in the Conjunto Histórico category, extended by Decree 5/2013. In a protected historic ensemble, a demolition needs a licencia urbanística and, where applicable, authorisation from the heritage authorities; the simplified declaración responsable that applies to most demolitions since 2024 does not cover protected buildings or settings. Confirm the exact route with the Ayuntamiento de Antequera through your técnico.
For a foreign owner who has bought a town house inside the protected area, the sequence is therefore:
- Your architect checks the building's protection level and what may be demolished, if anything.
- The licence application and any heritage authorisation are prepared and filed by you and your técnico.
- Once granted, we carry out the demolition exactly within the authorised scope, often partial and largely by hand.
Inside work in a protected house – stripping out kitchens, bathrooms or later partitions – is covered by the sister site on interior demolition in Antequera.
Cortijos, barns and farm warehouses on the Hoya
The other side of Antequera is agricultural. Across the Hoya and the neighbouring municipalities there are cortijos, barns, grain stores and warehouses that have stopped being useful or have become unsafe. These jobs suit finca demolition with machinery: there is space to work, sort and load. Large farm or agro-industrial structures in steel and concrete are the speciality of the sister site, which covers industrial demolition in Antequera.
Old farm buildings often carry fibre-cement roofs. These are removed by a RERA-registered company working as our subcontractor, under its own approved work plan, before or alongside the rest of the demolition. The asbestos waste is never mixed with other rubble. More on uralita removal in the Antequera comarca.

Heritage beyond the town, and owners who are far away
The Antequera Dolmens Site was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2016. Archaeological zones need a licence for any demolition, so if your plot is near known remains, ask your técnico to check before setting dates. It costs little to confirm and avoids a stop order later.
When you are not in Spain, we agree the scope, dates and what must stay in writing in English, and send you photos as the work progresses. Waste is sorted on site and delivered to an authorised manager, with receipts for your file. Read how this works in managing demolition from abroad, and if a building is already partly collapsing, see unsafe and ruined buildings.

Frequently asked questions
Which towns around Antequera do you cover?
Antequera, Alameda, Casabermeja, Fuente de Piedra, Humilladero, Mollina and Villanueva de la Concepción, plus the rural areas between them.
Can I demolish my house in Antequera's historic centre?
Only within what a licence and, where applicable, heritage authorisation allow. The historic town is a protected Conjunto Histórico, so your architect must check the building's protection level first.
Is a cortijo outside the town easier to demolish?
Usually, from a permit point of view: a non-protected rural building generally goes by declaración responsable. On site, flat open land also makes machine work and sorting simpler.
My plot is near the dolmens. What should I check?
Ask your técnico to confirm with the town hall whether the plot is in an archaeological zone or a protected setting, because that requires a licence for any demolition.
Do you take down large barns and grain stores?
Yes, as part of finca demolition. Very large steel or concrete structures are covered by our sister site for industrial demolition.
Can you work while I stay in my home country?
Yes. We agree everything in writing, coordinate dates with your architect and send photo updates until the plot is clear.
Can you demolish a building that is in ruin?
Yes, on the basis of a técnico's assessment. Ruined buildings are taken down from outside, with nobody working under unstable structure.
Do you work with my own architect?
Yes. We work to the documentation your técnico prepares and coordinate dates, cut lines and the handover level of the plot with them.
Do you demolish garages, annexes and outbuildings on their own?
Yes. A single annex, garage or store can be demolished as a partial demolition while the house stays.
What does a demolition cost here?
It depends on structure, size, access, hand work and waste. We do not publish prices; you get a written quote, and our price site has a calculator for a first rounded band.
